Community Organizing

Fostering connections within our Kurdish-American community.

Our Goal in Organizing.

To implement any change within our community or society’s stance on Kurds, we must begin by organizing our own people. To achieve this goal, outreach efforts are vital. To better understand and reach other Kurds, we started a database of the entire Kurdish community in the US. In addition, we organized numerous webinars, training, workshops, and other events to facilitate important conversations among our community members, and create a platform for us to come together.

We employed many methods of outreach, some of which are illustrated below. You can find the recordings and materials used during these events by clicking on them below, on our Instagram, or you can email us if you would like a copy of it sent to you.

COVID-19 Efforts.

Effendi Foundation sent out over 250 postcards across Nashville to help Kurdish community members get vaccinated. There was also an effort to share COVID-19 dates with 8 different Kurdish stores to spread more awareness to community members who did not receive a postcard. We believe the Kurdish community should be educated regarding getting tested and vaccinated. We have also called community members to confirm and help any people that may need COVID-19 information
